Silent Messeges Actually Speak volumes - Pastor Gil

 

     You all, as a group, have told me, over the last 2 years, in many ways, that most of you are not interested in a bible study like this one. 

I suppose it is difficult to learn Greek words, learn about the history of the times, to in essence, understand the context of the subject matter at hand as well as the scriptural text.. But that is my style and all of these things are facts worth knowing if one is to acquire a higher understanding of scripture, in my view. I do not see my role as an entertainer or a white washer of truth so as to please .

But I see by the attendance to our Bible study meetings that these things are not really of interest. Readership on the website is slightly better. For me that is little consolation… 

 I have talked about the value of fellowship for months on end to no avail and it is now time for me to understand that I have failed in my role here. Perhaps I have failed on many different levels. I will let you be the judge of that. But I have failed to motivate the very people who expressed an interest in bible study; to put a positive foot forward, to share with one another, and to make our meetings a time of gladness and restoration for mind and soul. I have come to the end of my energies. God has not given me the reserve to continue forward in this fashion.

I feel a certain negativity in terms of a silent resistance or divisiveness and I know it is not the Lord’s work.. Certainly I do not feel significantly supported in my work as I have gone forward preparing for our meetings, using energy and massive amounts of time for 2 years, to no avail.. I will not attempt to hide my disappointment but I do take solace in knowing that it is God’s will. And it is because of that I can even write this note to you all. I continue to assert what I have always and I will continue to pray for you all and to ask God for guidance in this search of mine to more completely understand the scriptures and conceive of the power of God.

At this time I will leave the bible study open for those who would wish to carry on. I may elect to do videos from time to time or post on the website but I will not commit to a schedule for doing this.. My meetings here are thus terminated as of today. For those of you who are honest in your quest I know that honesty will propel you forward..
